DANTRANS BRISBANE

About Dantrans

Dantrans Diff & Gearbox Services in Everton Hills is a family‑owned operation with over 20 years focused on manual gearboxes, differentials, clutches and driveline work, especially for 4x4s and LandCruisers. They’re the kind of place where they’ll strip your gearbox, give you a straight‑up quote and never start work without talking it through first, using quality parts and backing it all with a solid warranty.

They’ve got a reputation among the local 4WD crowd for doing right by people.

Tojo Cruiser Shields contribution

We sourced a second‑hand 5‑speed gearbox out of an HJ60 to replace the original 4‑speed in our HJ47, giving us much more usable gearing for long‑haul cruising and off‑road drive. Dantrans stepped up by donating their workmanship to inspect and prep it for install, spotting worn bearings and other issues that would have left us stranded if we’d bolted it in as‑is.

They recommended a full refurbish for safety and reliability, then took care of the whole job at a heavily reduced price. That kind of proactive, thorough support turns a risky second‑hand part into something we can trust for the thousands of kilometres ahead.

The experience with Tojo Cruiser Shields

We already knew we could trust Dantrans, they originally installed the Dana 60 track correction setup on our 2022 Troopy, and their workmanship and crew delivered exactly what we needed. When they offered to help with the HJ60 gearbox, it felt like going back to mates who actually care about getting it right.

They took the time to properly assess the box, call out the problems and make sure we weren’t cutting corners on something as critical as the drivetrain. The team’s attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile is why they’re on speed dial for anyone serious about their 4x4.

Tojo Cruiser Shields and the cause

At its core, Dantrans runs on good heart, they saw our project, understood the challenges of keeping an old HJ47 reliable for a bigger purpose, and wanted to help make it happen. Supporting a build like ours isn’t about the money, it’s about backing people who are doing something worthwhile with their rigs.

By sorting our gearbox properly, they’re helping ensure we stay on the road longer and safer, sharing the adventure with the dogs and the community following along. That generosity from a local family business means the world to projects like this.
